The Thunderbolt Ski Runners are non-profit ski and snowboard
club based in Adams, MA, a small town in western
Massachusetts at the foot of Mt. Greylock. The club
formed in the spring of 2008 with a singular goal,
to preserve the integrity and continue the legacy
of the Thunderbolt Ski Run. Even though the
Ski Runners are a new group, our members
have been taking care of the Thunderbolt
for decades, and we come from a
long tradition of like-minded ski clubs from
the communities surrounding Mt. Greylock.
Our parents and grandparents were
members of clubs like The Thunderbolt
Ski Club, the Mt. Greylock Ski Club, and
the Ski Runners of Adams, three such
groups that formed in the 1930's and
whose members skied and race on the
Thunderbolt. And indeed, our club name
and patch pay homage to those early groups
that helped make the Thunderbolt famous. Today,
the Thunderbolt Ski Runners hold work days on the
Thunderbolt, we organize ski trips and other outdoor
adventures, and we raise money through club dues, grants,
fund raising events, and donations, every penny of which
goes back into the Thunderbolt. Because of our efforts, the
Thunderbolt is safe, well maintained, and in the best condition
since the 1950's.

Members of the Thunderbolt Ski Runners hold regular trail work parties on the Thunderbolt throughout the year. After the December 2008 ice storms our members spent 4 days and 80 man/hours clearing the trail. We have since spent 1,000 man/hours in 2009 preparing the trail for the 75th Anniversary Race.
Please visit www.thunderboltskirunners.org to check for upcoming trail days and events.

Thunderbolt Cafe
Each year, later during the ski season, the Thunderbolt Ski Runners host what has become known as the Thunderbolt
Cafe. We haul up a small grill and all kinds of food and spend the day on the mountain just relaxing and skiing.
